C-PTSD Recovery and Affirmation Belly Breathing

C-PTSD Recovery and Affirmation Belly Breathing

Hello everyone, I know it’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted last. Life has been busy on my end but it feels really good to be back to posting again! Thanks for sticking around since I last posted! I’m going to turn this more into a blog where I post about what has been helping me throughout my journey of recovery from C-PTSD with hopes that what I post may help others, potentially even those who could benefit from some stress reduction. From time to time I may make more of a creative post, but this is what I’ve decided to focus on for now. A tool that has really helped me recently is what I like to call Affirmation Belly Breathing. While doing this type of breathing I place one hand on my heart and the other on my belly and inhale and exhale deeply, feeling my belly fill up with air and release that air as I allow my exhales to linger a few seconds longer than my inhales. While doing this, I repeat to myself “I have been through a lot, but I am safe now.” If you decide to practice this grounding technique I would recommend that you choose an affirmation that personally speaks to you, whether it’s this one or something different.

Enjoy your belly breathing and discover your bliss.
